Electrical Authority Network Controller - Nt (Darwin)

About the Role We are proud to become a new Australian Department of Defence partner, offering career opportunities to support the delivery of Property and Asset Services across South Australia and the Northern Territory. We are hiring multiple Electrical Authority Network Controllers to join our Defence division, supporting this new contract. These will be offered as permanent full-time positions that could be based at any of the main Defence bases in the Northern Territory. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and monitor field activities in response to planned network outages, fault restoration, and emergencies. Create, check, and approve transmission switching schedules. Ensure the safety of personnel and protection of assets while maintaining electricity network reliability. Develop and manage the service definition/delivery tables for all items related to the Authority. Identify, familiarise with, and conduct regular inspections of all HV electrical assets within the Defence network. Manage the real‐time power system, voltage, performing dispatch, and security functions. Facilitate operational communication within the team and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the network. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Certification as an Electrical Authority Network Controller or equivalent. Current HV switching and operations qualifications. Approximately 5 years of experience in a similar role within the electrical industry, preferably in a Defence or high‐security environment. Experience in developing and implementing electrical operational guidelines and procedures. Experience with coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing complex projects. Strong background in safety management and compliance within the electrical sector. First aid and CPR certification (support to update through in‐house RTO). Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance. Perks Career development – growth opportunities and internal mobility.
