Business Analyst
- Darwin We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of complex projects and programs, including the implementation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom applications. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Directors, Lead Analysts, business stakeholders and vendors to define requirements, improve processes and help deliver high-quality business solutions in a complex environment. About the role This is a Darwin based role; no remote working arrangements are available. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of business analysis activities across the full project lifecycle. You will engage with stakeholders to understand current-state processes, identify future-state needs and translate business requirements into clear, actionable documentation that supports successful solution design and delivery. Key responsibilities
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and focus groups to elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
• Manage requirements traceability and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce specifications to support solution configuration and build activities.
• Conduct walkthroughs to validate and obtain approval for business analysis outputs.
• Provide ongoing requirements support and clarification during project delivery and implementation.
• Develop future-state system workflows using BPMN 2.0 and create relevant UML use cases.
• Apply business analysis techniques and tools to document objectives, processes, procedures, work instructions and workflows.
• Support testing activities, including preparing and executing test plans and test cases.
• Deliver documentation in line with project management frameworks, agreed scope, timelines and quality standards.
• Handle sensitive information and maintain records in accordance with information management policies. What we’re looking for To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive experience as a Business Analyst in complex business environments, with solid capability across requirements gathering, business process analysis, modelling, process mapping, testing and system integration. You will also demonstrate:
• Proven experience mapping business requirements and processes to product functionality, while identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Strong understanding of information management and requirements traceability practices.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Highly effective stakeholder engagement, facilitation and client liaison skills.
• Experience working collaboratively in high-performing teams, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• End-to-end experience delivering major business systems projects.
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as Jira, Confluence and SharePoint, or the ability to quickly build capability in these tools.
• Experience identifying and analysing complex legislative and/or regulatory requirements relevant to the business environment. Desirable experience
• Experience using BPMN 2.0 or similar process modelling standards, and developing UML use cases.
• Previous experience working in a Government environment.
• Health sector experience will be highly regarded. Clearances You must be able to provide or be able to obtain a Working with Children (OCHRE) and a National Police check.
