The Jacobs team in Darwin is growing, and we’re looking for a Principal Engineer within our Civil and Aviation section to join us. Whether you’re already a Darwin local or considering relocation, this is an opportunity to take on a leadership role reporting directly to the Section Leader while overseeing multiple disciplines, business units and a varied client base within the Darwin team. Responsibilities
Lead design consultancy and engineering services across the Northern Territory and Queensland regions, providing technical input and direction in collaboration with Design Managers, Project Leads and Project Managers. Plan, develop and operate a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting the growth and development of the team, building design capability, strengthening client relationships and integrating with Global Integrated Delivery centers. Manage complex, multi‑disciplinary projects ensuring compliance with Jacobs’ standards and client quality requirements, articulate and deliver Digital Engineering and BIM solutions, and foster a project culture aligned with our values. Oversee design deliverables, manage budgets, support tenders and proposals, and lead effective project teams, coaching and mentoring talent to build capability across the organisation. Champion safety in design and client responsiveness, demonstrating consistency in leadership and exemplifying Jacobs’ Culture of Caring. Here’s what you’ll need
