General Manager
- Community Services (Broome Based) Centacare Kimberley is seeking an experienced, values-driven leader to join our Executive team as General Manager
- Community Services . This is a rare opportunity to lead community services across one of Australia’s most unique and culturally significant regions, helping shape services that are culturally secure, trauma-informed, and community-led. This role is Broome based , with regular travel across the Kimberley region, including overnight stays. Reporting to the CEO, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple service streams, supporting Program Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services for individuals, families, and communities across the Kimberley. You will play a key role in strengthening service quality, workforce capability, compliance, stakeholder relationships, and continuous improvement, while contributing to organisational strategy, innovation, and growth. About the role In this senior executive role, you will:
- Lead and support Program Managers and teams across a range of community service programs.
- Oversee service delivery, performance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure services are culturally secure, trauma-informed, person-centred, and outcomes-focused.
- Support strategic planning, business development, and funding opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, funders, and regional stakeholders.
- Represent Centacare Kimberley in forums, networks, and sector discussions.
- Act as CEO when required and provide leadership across the organisation. About you You are a strategic and collaborative leader with substantial experience in community services and multidisciplinary team management. You bring a strong understanding of service quality, compliance, workforce leadership, and the importance of culturally secure practice when working with Aboriginal communities and people with complex needs. You will also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Human Services, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years’ management experience leading and supervising multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience in program design, evaluation, reporting, and contract compliance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
- Excellent communication, analysis, administration, and report‑writing skills.
- Confidence working in complex environments with competing priorities and diverse community needs. Remuneration and benefits A competitive potential total remuneration package of up to approximately $224,900 is available for the successful candidate, dependent on skills and experience. The package includes:
- Base salary of up to $145,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
- Housing allowance of up to $20,000 for candidates requiring relocation to Broome (not available to Broome-based candidates)
- Fully maintained company vehicle for use within the Broome area only, valued at approximately $23,000
- Seven weeks annual leave, valued at approximately $19,500
- Superannuation of up to $17,400 (based on $145,000 of base salary)
