Hills Transplants Pty Ltd, a leading horticultural nursery based in Tasmania, is seeking a skilled and reliable Herb Production Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time role based at our Longford site, working as part of our herb production team in a safe, clean, and fast-paced environment.

$68,864 – $75,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

Key Responsibilities:

·Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move bulk materials such as palletised goods, cartons, planters, and gullies within the herb production shed. Registration or licensing may be required.

·Operate forklift controls to stack and unstack items, using proper alignment and load balancing techniques in accordance with forklift safety protocols, operating procedures and regulations.

·Transport pallets and materials to designated storage or processing areas to support continuous production workflows.

·Ensure goods are stored correctly and logically to allow for easy retrieval and order preparation.

·Operate forklifts with awareness of guidance systems and narrow aisle conditions (where applicable).

·Monitor equipment operation visually and via digital monitoring systems, reporting anomalies promptly.

·Perform routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety issues on forklift equipment.

·Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs or adjustments to forklifts and related equipment as required.

·Assist with wrapping and preparing pallets for dispatch and ensure accurate placement within inventory systems.

·Maintain adherence to all workplace health and safety requirements, including PPE use, seatbelt usage and hygiene compliance.

·Report any product contamination risks, workplace hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.

·Participate in toolbox talks, safety drills, and training sessions as part of continuous professional development.

Skills and Experience Required:

- Minimum 1 year of experience operating forklifts.

- Valid Australian forklift (LF class) licence.

- Experience in a horticulture, agricultural or warehouse environment preferred.

- Strong understanding of safety protocols and palletised handling procedures.

Language Requirements:

Applicants must have a good command of written and spoken English for workplace communication and compliance.
