Group Procurement Manager (Devonport)

- Exciting opportunity to lead a centralised function Spirit of Tasmania operates twin ships sailing across Bass Strait carrying up to 1,800 passengers and 500 vehicles each night and on selected day sailings during peak season. With over 650 people employed across a variety of roles on board the ships and ‘on shore’, we are focused on delivering exceptional and unparalleled passenger and freight services across Bass Strait. We are bringing together our departmental procurement and purchasing streams into a centralised function. We are looking for a Group Procurement Manager who thrives on impact, innovation, and building robust partnerships to lead the new team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead tendering, sourcing, and negotiation activities for high-value and strategic contracts, including fuel, maintenance, vessel components, hospitality stores and supplies, insurance and port services. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a procurement strategy that supports operational and financial objectives.
- Overseeing contract lifecycle management, including compliance, performance monitoring, and renewals.
- Delivering cost savings, efficiencies, and added value across categories. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive procurement experience, including in a leadership capacity.
- A proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management in complex environments.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to effectively influence and liaise with stakeholders It is desirable that you have a Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
