Teacher Assistant (Devonport)

Role St Brendan‑Shaw College, Devonport, Tasmania, is seeking a permanent, ongoing part‑time Teacher Assistant – Student Support person (0.54 FTE). The role involves working four days a week, Monday‑Thursday, from 8:30am to 3:00pm during term time. Responsibilities
- Provide effective, quality support to teachers in the delivery of defined educational programmes and activities, and interventions for students as required.
- Relate to students with varying needs, exercising judgement and discretion in undertaking duties.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, teachers, and support staff.
- Apply literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills to effectively undertake the role.
- Use initiative to resolve problems and conflicts constructively.
- Demonstrate flexibility and dependability.
- Assist with the supervision and instruction of students with additional and substantial level needs, under the guidance of the Teacher. Qualifications
