- High-acuity ECC caseload – no routine GP work AES Hobart is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Nurse to join our fast‑paced emergency hospital. This is a hands‑on clinical leadership role suited to an experienced ECC nurse ready to step into greater responsibility and career progression, whilst still remaining involved in clinical shifts. Senior Veterinary Nurse combines advanced clinical nursing with shift leadership, team mentorship and operational support. They supervise hospital operations during shifts, support ICU/CCU critical care cases, guide nursing staff and contribute to maintaining high clinical and cultural standards. As this is a 24/7 emergency hospital, availability for nights, weekends and public holidays is essential. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the nursing team during shifts
- Operate autonomously with complex emergency and critical care cases
- Assist with workflow coordination and shift management
- Demonstrating flexibility and a team first mindset across both clinical and administrative shifts
- Contribute to policy, training and continuous improvement initiatives

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
- Minimum 3+ years’ nursing experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities
- Strong ECC skills and confidence in critical care
- Excellent communication and teamwork
