Building Construction Supervisor Goldenlight Pty Ltd | Dickson, Canberra ACT Construction (Trades & Services) Full time $95,000 – $105,000 per year + superannuation Goldenlight Civil & Construction is a Canberra-based construction company specialising in steel reinforcement (REO), post-tensioning (PT), formwork carpentry, prefabrication, and structural welding. We deliver high-profile commercial, civil, and residential projects across the ACT, NSW, and QLD. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Building Construction Supervisor to oversee our reinforcement, post-tensioning, and formwork carpentry works on active sites across Canberra. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities on assigned sites, acting as the main site supervisor/foreman for Goldenlight's REO, post-tensioning, and formwork carpentry works.
- Assist the Construction Manager in planning and organising on-site activities, and coordinate works programs across steel fixing, post-tensioning, formwork, and concrete trades.
- Organise and coordinate trade disciplines, sub-contractors, human resources, and the timely delivery of materials and plant equipment to site.
- Interpret structural drawings, reinforcement schedules, building codes, and Australian Standards (including AS 3600 and AS/NZS 4671), and provide technical input where required.
- Monitor construction timelines, costs, and quality, and support budgetary controls throughout each project.
- Inspect works and materials for compliance with specifications, the NCC, regulations, and project standards.
- Enforce WHS legislation and Goldenlight's safety standards, identify hazards, and support risk mitigation strategies on site.
- Provide regular progress reports to Project Managers and senior management, and liaise with head contractors, clients, and stakeholders. Minimum Requirements
- Qualification comparable to AQF Diploma or higher in Building and Construction, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 1 year full time experience in a relevant supervisory role (Building Construction Supervisor, Site Foreman, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and reinforcement schedules.
- Sound working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards, and WHS legislation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
- Valid White Card (General Construction Induction).
- Valid Australian driver's licence.
- Excellent written and verbal English. Desirable Skills
- Experience supervising steel fixing, post-tensioning, formwork carpentry, and/or concrete works.
- ACT WorkSafe High Risk Work Licence(s) relevant to the role.
- Asbestos Awareness and Silica Awareness training.
- First Aid certification.
