Gardener Supervisor (Doncaster)

Applewood Residential Developments is the owner and operator of Applewood, an award-winning residential lifestyle community set on 25 acres of beautiful gardens in Doncaster. We are seeking to appoint a Part Time Gardener Supervisor to ensure our high standards of visual presentation are maintained. The position will be 22.8 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday. Casual Gardener positions are also available. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining all Village gardens and grounds by carrying out general gardening and groundskeeping activities. Specifically; weed control, mulching, planting, litter control, turf maintenance
- and other general maintenance duties;
- Supporting the gardening team when the Head Gardener is unavailable;
- Ensuring resident garden maintenance requests are completed within agreed time frames;
- Applying fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides within WH&S; regulatory requirements;
- Curating gardens to the defined standard;
- Trimming trees, cutting grass, watering plants and other gardening duties as defined; and
- Removing cuttings, raking leaves, cleaning/emptying litter bins, cleaning gutters/drains/culverts. The successful candidate will possess the following skills & experience:
- A self-starter who can work independently
- A strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact effectively with an over-55 demographic
- Ability to work efficiently with other staff as part of a small team
- Ability to deal with questions and complaints efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining good customer relations
- An interest in gardening
- Physical fitness and preparedness for hard work A driver's license and current police check (can be obtained prior to commencement) are mandatory requirements for this position.
