Ready to make your mark as a Civil Engineer? How about flexing your experience across complex civil and structural projects within the mining and energy sector? You’ll be joining a well-established organisation with over 40 years of success across Civil, Mechanical and Environmental disciplines. Looking for a role where you can actually develop your technical capability? Where you’re surrounded by senior engineers, mentors, and specialists? You’re in the right place. Based out of Eraring Power Station, you might already be local to Lake Macquarie, or maybe you're ready for a change of scenery. Right now, the team is working closely with one of Australia’s largest energy providers. You’ll be embedded within a high-performing environment, collaborating directly with experienced engineers and technical specialists on critical infrastructure. You’ve worked hard to build your foundation, but you’re not done yet. This is your chance to step into a role where you’ll not only apply your skills, but expand them. Getting hands-on with design, inspections, analysis, and problem-solving across a range of civil and structural challenges. What you’ll be doing You’ll be working closely with the Ash Dam Operations Manager and Supervisor, where you’ll play a key role in supporting ongoing works and projects across a tailings dam environment. You’ll be involved in:
- Civil and structural design work, including design changes and improvements
- Challenging and reviewing existing methodologies, sometimes even reverse engineering designs that aren’t fit for purpose
- Inspections, reporting, and technical analysis across dam infrastructure
- Collaborating closely with client-side engineers and internal SMEs
- Supporting a range of projects across bulk earthworks, materials, and dam-related infrastructure You’ll also gain exposure to emerging technologies and materials, working with innovative solutions in areas like ash beneficiation, cement products, and new materials entering the market. What you’ll bring You’re a degree-qualified Civil or Structural Engineer with a few solid years of experience behind you. Experience within mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry will set you apart, especially if you’ve had exposure to:
- Geotechnical principles (materials, road pavements, or similar)
- Bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure projects
- Structural concrete, steel inspections, or remediation works More importantly, you’re technically minded and confident in your engineering fundamentals. You can speak the language, understand design intent and contribute meaningfully in a team of highly experienced engineers. This isn’t a pure Project Engineer role, we’re looking for someone who enjoys the technical side of engineering. Someone who wants to be involved in design, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You’ll be supported by senior engineers, including highly experienced geotechnical specialists giving you the opportunity to learn, be mentored, and grow into a stronger technical professional.
