Farm Hand - Poultry production (Broiler farm) (Modella)

Farm Hand Wanted – Poultry (Broiler Production) Casual Position, $26-$33 per hour depending on experience Monday – Friday morning work, typically 4 – 6 hours/day. We are currently seeking to fill a casual position on a poultry farm in the Modella area. We are looking for someone to help with the morning duties, but who is also versatile to do extra work as demand requires. There is also an opportunity to do extra work on the weekend if desired. We have an 8-shed farm with 360000 chickens across the farm. As family run operation, we insist on providing any employee a stress free, friendly and positive work environment. We have operated at this current site for 12 years but are 3rd generation broiler farmers with decades of experience. Qualifications & experience
- Be able to perform repetitive bending and lifting
- Be available for a 5-day roster
- Must not have any birds poultry or pigs at home
- A proven track record of reliability, hard work and willingness to deliver
- Have current drivers licence and reliable transport
- Prior farming experience would be highly regarded but not essential
- Have strong safety focus and quarantine awareness, making sure environmental and quarantine standards are strictly adhered to
- Must hold a valid work visa or have legal working rights in Australia Duties will include:
- Placing of day-old chicks
- Walking through sheds and removing dead birds
- Rotary hoeing
- Weighing birds
- Working with live stock
- Working in a dusty/hot environment
- Mowing and weed spraying
- Cleaning Duties, and maintenance work
- Feeding cattle and other general farm duties
