About the Role To be successful in the role you will need to have strong planning and prioritising skills and good communication skills to enable you to work effectively with others. Within this role, you will work independently and within a team environment. You will perform a range of tasks relating to ensuring the security of a departmental school. This involves patrolling the grounds of the school and ensuring the premises are appropriately secured. You will identify and report maintenance and safety issues. You will respond to all activated security and fire alarms in a timely manner. Other related duties of the role, within the skills and competencies of the Security Officer, as directed by the Principal or delegate. On the school grounds students have access to tennis courts, a gymnasium, swimming pool, 10 hectares of sporting ovals, after-hours library and resource centre, as well as a host of individual and team activities at school and in the local community. The school has outstanding agricultural facilities and is a leader in agricultural education. Programs include show stock teams in sheep, beef cattle, equine and poultry who travel extensively and provide additional opportunities for students to excel in this area of interest. The school has a diverse range of staff who support both the day and residential component of the school. The Strategic Plan identifies a focus on improving literacy and numeracy skills, HSC achievement, student wellbeing, excellence in Agriculture and enhancing community partnerships.
