Reporting to the Business Manager of our Health and Wellness Team, you will assist with the development and implementation of exercise programs to enrich the lives of our clients. Following the Catholic Healthcare Community Services Health & Wellness Program guidelines to facilitate engaging classes including light cardiovascular, strengthening, flexibility, coordination and balance training.You will understand the importance of respect, trust and empathy and have the skills to communicate effectively and motivate our clients to live a healthy and active lifestyle, assisting them to live their best life.To be successful in this role you'll needKind heart and genuine passion for providing high quality care to the elderlyCurrent Drivers Licence and a registered and insured motor vehiclePrevious experience in facilitating seniors exercise programs, particularly water exercisesExperience in planning, coordinating and evaluating fitness programsFlexibility to adjust and adapt exercises to suit individual participants abilities and goals as requiredUnderstanding of the exercise principles in Falls Prevention for seniorsAbility to monitor individuals throughout the classes and adapt programs where necessaryEducate, support and nurture participants during the classes to provide a meaningful, supportive and fun exercise environmentUnderstanding of the different forms of exercise suitable for seniors and the ability to be able to teach/facilitate these safely within the sessionsUnderstanding of when to refer individuals to other supports if required such as other Catholic Healthcare Services, physiotherapy, fall prevention programs, Doctors etc.A strong work ethic along with a sense of funUnderstanding of workplace health and safetyCertificate 3 in Fitness (or equivalent) & current First Aid certificate or willing to obtainWillingness to apply for a Police CheckWhat we can offer youCompetitive hourly pay rateNot-for-profit tax benefits so you pay less taxFitness Passport discounted gym benefitsPaid Parental leaveLong Service leave after 5 yearsAdditional week of leave for Enterprise Agreement shift workers40+ Locations across NSW and QLD if you choose to moveA values-based organisation that welcomes applicants from all faiths and backgroundsCatholic Healthcare acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and dream.
