About the role
A Resource Recovery Team Member Driver supports the delivery of essential waste and recycling services across the Inner West community.
This hands‐on role involves operating waste collection vehicles while leading a small crew to complete daily collection runs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Services include garbage, recycling, garden organics, clean‐ups and lane cleaning within a agile, team‐based environment.
Key responsibilities
Operate waste compaction and collection vehicles across day or night shifts
Lead and support a small team to complete assigned collection runs
Collect, load and transport waste and recyclables across multiple service streams
Maintain compliance with WHS requirements, road rules and Council procedures
Engage respectfully with community members and minimise disruption
Required skills, experience & qualifications
Class HR Drivers Licence, basic computer skills and literacy
Demonstrated solid customer service focus and being conscientious and reliable
Demonstrated ability to perform work safely at all times and actively ensuring the safety of your team members and others including the public and community at large
Suitable level of fitness relative to position
Ability and preparedness to work flexibly across any collection services in a team based customer focussed setting
Demonstrated experience in operating mechanical road plant in a high density urban environment
