To learn more about our values visit About the Role Our Sydney office is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer / Scientist with at least 5+ years' experience in the remediation and contaminated land sector. This role offers a balance of fieldwork and technical reporting, with opportunities to work alongside senior industry professionals on diverse and exciting projects. Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior project managers and principals to plan and deliver environmental projects, including site assessments, investigations and reporting.
- Preparation of good proposals and scopes of work, ensuring alignment with client needs and project objectives. It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to prepare proposals and run standard contaminated land investigations with limited supervision.
- Scope and undertake field investigations independently and mentor team members with field tasks such as sampling of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, landfill gas, surface water and sediment for contaminated land assessments.
- Managing subcontractors (e.g. drillers, excavators, service locators), ensuring safe and efficient site work.
- Log and document subsurface and contamination conditions during site visits, ensuring data quality and compliance.
- Preparation of high-quality technical reports under the guidance of senior staff, including preliminary and detailed site investigations, remediation action plans, long term management plans.
- A good understanding of relevant Australian guidelines and the ability to apply them and other international best practice guidance in the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites.
- Maintain strong WHS practices and promote a safety-first culture on site and in the office.
- Build collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients, supporting the delivery of successful project outcomes. About You We’re looking for someone who is technically solid, adaptable and thrives in a team environment. You’ll also bring:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology;
- At least 5+ years’ experience in contaminated land and remediation;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare well-written technical reports is a key requirement of this role;
- Good understanding of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks;
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities;
- High attention to detail and quality;
- Willingness to undertake fieldwork and occasional regional travel;
- Proven track record in successfully completing medium scale contaminated land/remediation projects;
- Ability to successfully build long-term client relationships and generate repeat clients;
- Willingness to undertake self-learning/research, if required to facilitate positive project outcomes;
- Demonstrated progress (or already accredited) toward CEnvP (Site Contamination) or Certified Professional Soil Scientist is highly regarded;
