Call Centre Operator Newcastle – Part Time (3 Month Contract) – $34.01 p/h + Super

- Newcastle / Hybrid About the Company A large NSW government organisation is looking for a Call Centre Operator to work within a great team environment. The position is based in Newcastle on a 3‑month contract. You will work a 7 am – 7 pm rotating roster Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. The roster is a four‑week rotating schedule – you will work the same shift for four weeks and then transition to another shift. Shifts include an early start (e.g. 7 am start), a mid‑shift (e.g. 9–10 am start) and a late shift (e.g. 11 am start). Full time in the office for the first two weeks, after which the role may transition to a part‑time hybrid mode (approximately four days from home and one day in the office). About the Role
- Deliver high‑quality customer service through robust engagement in a high‑volume contact centre workplace.
- Handle customer enquiries promptly and courteously while maintaining confidentiality and using discretion in the performance of all duties.
- Identify, refer and assign non‑standard and more complex enquiries to a Centre of Expertise for action and resolution.
- Maintain currency in knowledge of policy, legislation and related business processes to respond efficiently and effectively to customer needs.
- Maintain accurate data records in a customer management system to ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Confidently use multiple technology platforms and databases.
- Adhere to and meet Contact Centre KPIs on a daily and monthly basis. About You

- Display resilience and courage.
- Manage yourself, including accountability and initiative.
- Communicate effectively.
