Overview Virtual Design and Construction Designer focused on BIM coordination for Amazon Data Center facilities. The role involves preparing federated BIM models and data, influencing design documents, and ensuring buildability, compliance, and optimization across the Data Center fleet. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate consolidated templates and trade models for Data Centers using Revit and Navisworks.
- Work independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
- Update and modify existing models, studies, and construction documents as required.
- Maintain, enforce, and develop BIM templates and standards.
- Audit project deliverables, monitor quality, and report key metrics to management.
- Lead design coordination meetings, facilitating clash detection and resolution with other trades.
- Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers.
- Provide coordination support for information requests during construction phases.
- Travel to Data Center sites for engineering evaluations and surveys as needed (approximately once or twice a year).
- Contribute creative, out-of-the-box solutions to improve efficiency and quality. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM coordination.
- Experience with Navisworks.
- Solid understanding of building systems and construction processes.
- Experience with Autodesk Forma or ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud). Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Dynamo scripting.
- Knowledge of data center design and MEP systems.
- Experience with clash detection and resolution using BIM tools.
- Familiarity with construction documentation standards.
