Employment Type: Visiting Medical Officer Position Classification: Visiting Medical Officer Requisition ID: REQ665858 Overview: Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer to join our Mental Health Services team. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high‑quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in psychiatry and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Mental Health Service and Hospital as required. The Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry (Concord Centre for Mental Health) will work as one of a number of staff specialist psychiatrists within an acute adult inpatient mental health service based at Concord Centre for Mental Health, providing direct care and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health team. The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encourage an academic environment that supports education, research and professional development. Eligibility: Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and Recent Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition. Positions are currently available; applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within six months from date of application may be considered.
