We are seeking an experienced Senior Design / Design Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative mask products from concept through production. You will work cross‑functionally to deliver high‑quality, user‑centred solutions in a regulated medical device environment. Role Overview
- Lead mechanical design of mask components and sub‑systems from concept to manufacturing.
- Apply design thinking to translate user and patient needs into robust design solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product, manufacturing, materials, quality, suppliers, and technology teams.
- Own technical decisions, design verification, and transfer to manufacturing.
- Communicate progress, risks, and solutions clearly to stakeholders. Core Responsibilities
- Create concepts using sketches, prototypes, and rapid iteration.
- Develop detailed designs using 3D & 2D CAD, GD&T;, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, and design verification.
- Optimise designs for performance, aesthetics, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Work effectively within medical device design controls, risk management, and quality systems. Leadership
- Provide technical leadership at component and sub‑system levels.
- Mentor and support engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
- Take ownership of outcomes, proactively identify risks, and drive solutions.
- Challenge assumptions constructively and contribute to engineering best practices. Technical & Innovation Capability
- Robust design engineering fundamentals and structured product development approach.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD and mechanical analysis/simulation tools.
- High attention to detail in DFM/DFA, tolerancing, and material selection.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and tools. Customer & Team Focus
- Maintain strong focus on user, patient, and customer needs.
- Collaborate effectively with global teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Communicate clearly through technical documentation and regulated design records. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or equivalent.
- 3–5 years experience as a Design Engineer or 5–8 years as a Senior Design Engineer.
- Experience in medical devices is valued; candidates with strong transferable experience and the ability to quickly learn regulated design requirements are encouraged to apply.
