Classroom Teacher
- Secondary Science St Johns College, Dubbo – Co-educational School Years 7-12 – Temporary, Full-time Position (Leave Coverage) – Commencing 10 August 2026 until the end of Term 2 2027. About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a science teacher to become a valuable addition to our remarkable team at St Johns College in Dubbo NSW. The teacher in a secondary Catholic school is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs relevant to the curriculum while creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment for their students. We are seeking a teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:
- Creating a learner‑centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.
- Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.
- Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapting practices for equitable education.
- Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.
- Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contributing to school life.
- Providing student supervision and assisting in organising extracurricular activities. About You (selection criteria)
- Expertise and a passion for leading learning.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology to inform, track and report learning.
- Highly effective organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to contribute to the further development of a self‑reviewing and self‑improving school culture.
- Interest in the coordination of transition events and an ability to manage various stakeholders.
