About The Chance We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative Phlebotomist to join our Pathology Collection Service at Nepean Hospital. The successful applicant must be available to participate in a 24/7 shift roster including weekends and public holidays. - Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.
- Provide a high-quality healthcare service to all referrers and consumers.
- Perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to specimen collection, data entry, processing, and delivery into sites for pathology investigations as required. Benefits

- Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or previous experience in venepuncture.
- Demonstrated customer service experience and skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and clinical staff in an setting transferable to this role.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve general issues within the clinical environment including specimen preparation and transport ensuring specimen viability.
- Familiarity with pathology terminology and requirements and willingness to learn a broad scope of collection, data entry and specimen preparation practices including paediatric and neonatal blood collections.
- Willingness to participate in shift work, including weekend work as required, and travel to any site or location within the operational area as requested.
- Ability to manage a demanding professional environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Current NSW C‑class driver’s licence (P1 or P2 accepted) is required; interstate C‑class licence holders must obtain an NSW C‑class licence within three months of appointment (learner licences not accepted). Must have capacity to travel to any site for a shift as required.
- Valid working rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Pass NSW Health vaccination and screening requirements before starting employment and may be required to undergo a functional assessment prior to appointment.
- Requires a Working with Children Check issued by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
