Role Overview Collections / Mortgage Customer Management (CMM) is a full‐time or part‐time position based in Sydney that supports mortgage borrowers across Australia and NewZealand. The role belongs to the Contact Centre Operations team and focuses on customer care, compliance and the turnover of arrears. Responsibilities Handle inbound enquiries from borrowers needing assistance and proactively make outbound calls to those in arrears. Provide clear, empathetic guidance to customers experiencing hardship and work with them to create sustainable repayment solutions. Ensure all collections activities comply with legal, risk and regulatory standards. Use negotiation, problem‐solving and customer‐service skills to secure fair, positive outcomes. Qualifications Proven experience in collections, mortgage hardship management or customer service (preferably in Australia or NewZealand). Comfortable working in a contact‐centre workplace with a balance of technical knowledge and emotional intelligence. Good understanding of credit and hardship assessment processes. Knowledge of financial hardship obligations and enforcement processes (advantageous). Excellent active listening and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly. Experience meeting SLAs and KPIs in inbound/outbound service environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and contact‐centre systems. Proactive, compliance‐driven approach with a strong sense of integrity.
