General Practice - Consultant - Nyngan Multi Purpose Service

Role Overview Recent GP and ED experience required. ED skills are imperative to the role – including assessment and management of all triage codes with support from the WNSWLHD vCare team. Responsibilities
- You will be the sole doctor on call 24/7.
- As the locum doctor, you will be called in for all triage categories (1s to 5s) in‑person between 0800hrs and 2000hrs.
- Overnight (2000hrs to 0800hrs) you will review all Category1,2 and3 ED presentations in‑person.
- Overnight (2000hrs to 0800hrs) you will be responsible for Category4 and5 ED presentations; in‑person review is at your discretion, though you must attend if a clinician or registered nurse requests your presence.
- You will attend inpatients who are deteriorating at all times.
- vCare is available in emergency situations ) to assist with support and escalation of a patient within the facility that requires emergency assistance, transfer to a tertiary facility, advice from specialist teams, emergency birth assistance, paediatric specialist care, trauma and burn specialist support.
- Fatigue breaks, if required, will be discussed with the Health Service Manager before being taken. Requirements
- GP with Emergency Department experience.
- Must have completed Rural eMeds training.
- The doctor must hold a Medicare provider number and have full billing rights under Medicare. Hours & On‑Site Requirements Daily ward rounds and clinic times, as agreed. You will need to be on site for required duties. Location & Facilities Nyngan is a 42‑bed MPS with ED, acute, renal and residential care provided on site. Dubbo is the closest referral hospital. Radiology access is limited; point‑of‑care testing for pathology is available. Accommodation & Travel On‑site self‑contained studio apartments or a motel are available.
