Commercial Property Officer Temporary – Full Time or Part Time Join Lake Mac as our Commercial Property Officer and manage a diverse property portfolio, drive strong returns and support community outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of Council-owned commercial and residential properties.
- Lead lease, licence and tenant matters from negotiation through to management.
- Support your work‑life balance with a 35‑hour week and hybrid work. As a key member of our Property and Business Development team, you will manage Council’s commercial and residential property holdings to help keep assets performing, tenancies operating smoothly and returns aligned to budget targets. This is a hands‑on role that blends strategic property management with day‑to‑day coordination, stakeholder engagement and sound commercial judgement. You will negotiate lease and licence terms, coordinate leasing documentation, monitor rental payments and outgoings, oversee managing agents and service contracts, support capital works and maintenance planning, undertake property inspections, and work with internal and external stakeholders on property‑related opportunities including telecommunications use of Council land. You will also help maintain financial records, manage budgets and contribute to quarterly budget reviews. Read the position statement and learn more about this exciting opportunity. Qualifications
- Certificate IV in property management, property, real estate or related discipline and extensive experience in property management within a specialist real estate, public authority or local government environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, with people across the organisation, lessees, managing agents and other external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in determining annual budgets (income and expenditure), reviewing and monitoring performance against budget.
- Sound knowledge of legislation applicable to the leasing of residential and commercial properties and a demonstrated ability to interpret policies, procedures and legal documents.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects relevant to commercial and residential properties. Advantages

- $109,614 a year plus 12% superannuation.
- Temporary Contract until February 2027.
