Description
About the Role We are a lean, fast‑moving startup seeking an HR Coordinator who thrives in a dynamic environment and is energized by the opportunity to make a tangible impact. This is not a role defined by a rigid playbook. You will be joining a small, focused team where processes are actively being developed and your contributions will be visible from day one. We are not hiring for depth of HR knowledge — that can be developed over time. We are hiring for mindset and character. The ideal candidate is hungry to grow, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and naturally inclined to identify problems and drive solutions. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, executes with accuracy and efficiency, and consistently seeks to improve the systems and processes around them. If you are eager to contribute meaningfully, learn continuously, and help build something from the ground up, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will evolve in line with organizational growth. Initial areas of focus will include:
- Support core HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and the maintenance of accurate employee records
- Handle sensitive employee information with strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Serve as a dependable point of contact for employee inquiries, exercising sound judgment in determining when to resolve independently and when to elevate
- Coordinate HR programs and initiatives, including benefits enrollment, compliance tracking, and performance review cycles
- Analyse HR data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to inform decision‑making
- Proactively identify process inefficiencies and present well‑reasoned recommendations for improvement
- Adapt to emerging priorities and take on recent responsibilities as the organization scales What We’re Looking For We are seeking a candidate whose professional disposition and work ethic align with the demands of a high‑growth environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates:
- Attention to Detail: A commitment to precision in all aspects of work. You verify, double‑check, and take pride in the accuracy of your output.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: An understanding that HR functions require the careful stewardship of sensitive information. You approach this responsibility with consistency and integrity.
- Comfort with Ambiguity: The ability to operate effectively in an environment where not all processes are defined. You are resourceful, adaptable, and capable of establishing structure where it does not yet exist.
- Initiative and Drive: A proactive orientation toward work. You identify what needs to be done, take ownership without being prompted, and follow through with purpose and energy.
- Strong Critical Thinking: The capacity to analyze situations thoughtfully, ask the right questions, and arrive at sound conclusions through reasoned judgment rather than assumption.
- A Solutions‑First Mindset: When confronted with challenges, your instinct is to work through them independently first — researching, reasoning, and forming a clear point of view — before presenting a recommended path forward.
- Excellent Communication: The ability to communicate with clarity and professionalism in both written and verbal contexts, adapting your approach to suit the audience and situation.
- A Continuous Improvement Orientation: You are not satisfied with the status quo. You consistently look for ways to enhance processes and are confident in raising ideas and suggestions constructively. Qualifications Required:
- 3+ years professional experience, ideally in the technology sector
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with strong organizational discipline
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work with data confidently — extracting insights, identifying patterns, and presenting findings in a clear and accessible manner
- A demonstrated history of taking initiative and delivering results independently Preferred (Not Required):
- Prior exposure to HR — through coursework, an internship, or professional experience
- Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms such as Workday, Greenhouse, Rippling, or Deel
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions
- Experience with data tools including Excel or comparable reporting platforms
- Comfort and fluency with technology in a professional context; a genuine interest in artificial intelligence and its practical applications is a plus
- A desire to pursue a long‑term career in HR or People Ops Why Join Us?
