Right now, we are seeking a bright and energised Systems and Cyber Security Engineer, to work with the Projects Integrated Project Team, reporting directly to the Senior Principal Systems and Cyber Engineer. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and management of key security documentation and in assessment and authorisation activities.
- Work with security, engineering and system designers to develop security designs and implement into environment.
- Support the conduct of security working groups to discuss risks and controls with stakeholders.
- Support the conduct of threat risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Conduct routine security administration, monitoring and incident response. Required Skills and Experience Certifications in Cyber Security or relevant IT field. Structured approach to issue identification and resolution under guidance; demonstration of clear documentation and reporting skills. Knowledge of the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and application of these in practical security control design and assessment. Understanding of network architectures and security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, segmentation, and secure network design principles. Understanding of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA), Endpoint Security and security information and event management systems (SIEMs). Minimum 2years experience in a similar role, ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier and senior leadership levels, availability for travel as required, and eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting1 level. Desired Qualifications University degree in Cyber Security, Technology or relevant Engineering discipline. 4years experience in similar role. Experience working within defence or a highly regulated industry. Understanding of Windows and Linux administration and security features, including access control, system hardening, logging, and integrity monitoring, and ability to analyse and respond to related security issues. Experience with DevSecOps environments and in Systems Engineering processes involving requirements definition, management, analysis, design, integration and verification.
