Amazon Leo is Amazon's initiative to provide quick, affordable broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world through a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. As the Regional Program Security Officer for the Asia Pacific region, you will oversee the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of the Law Enforcement Response and Intercept (LER‑I) program, focusing on Australia and the broader APAC region. Key Responsibilities
- Build and implement comprehensive program security guidance covering personnel, physical, operational, technical, information, and other security issues according to LER‑I regulations in Australia and across APAC.
- Create, communicate, and manage security requirements while leading operational support for law enforcement requests up to and including lawful intercept.
- Proactively identify program and physical security initiatives, requirements, and problems, and present sound solutions to sustain and enhance the security program.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to heighten security awareness and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with export control laws and regulations, obtaining necessary export licenses or approvals from the United States government.
- Serve as the main point of contact for law enforcement in Australia and maintain or obtain Australian national defense security clearances. A Day in the Life You will manage intake, data sourcing, and legal assurance activities for day‑to‑day LEA requests and lawful intercept requirements. Decisioning high‑judgement requests, engaging regulators for licensure, addressing inquiries and investigations, and participating in audits are part of your daily responsibilities. You will lead APAC strategy for intake, review, research, assurance, and legal review for all data, driving the build‑out of LER capabilities across Kuiper legal entities, countries, and jurisdictions. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent technology experience.
- 5+ years of program, project, or product management experience.
- Experience in making or responding to law enforcement requests.
- Security industry experience responsible for complex compliance requirements.
- Prior experience managing Lawful Intercept requests.
