First Sentier Group is seeking a Business Development Associate (BDA) to join our ANZ Distribution team, supporting our Institutional Business Development and Relationship Management teams across Australia and New Zealand. This is a great opportunity for someone commercially minded who enjoys working at pace and building strong relationships. In this role, you’ll support the full sales lifecycle, including CRM and pipeline management, reporting and insights, meeting coordination, and preparation of client materials, while also supporting institutional clients and investment consultants. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing national BDA team, with broad exposure across products, stakeholders, and the wider business. Reporting to the Head of Institutional Business, your day-to-day will include:
- Build strong relationships with BDMs, Institutional Relationship Managers, clients, and consultants
- Support sales and retention activities, including campaigns, pipeline tracking, and growth targets
- Deliver proactive client outreach and manage meeting coordination, briefings, and follow-ups
- Coordinate portfolio manager travel, roadshows, and associated materials
- Maintain accurate CRM records, reporting, and client engagement tracking
- Manage institutional events, communications, and marketing campaigns
- Identify sales opportunities and provide insights through data analysis and market intelligence
- Support client queries, data requests, and broader Distribution team activities
- Attend industry events and represent FSG at all times About you We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills: Your experience & skills
- Tertiary qualification (Commerce/Business/Economics/Accounting preferred) with 3 years’ experience in financial services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels
- Solid understanding of funds management, investment structures, and the Australian institutional landscape
- Robust analytical skills with experience using data, reporting, and CRM tools
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to identify client needs and respond effectively
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
