Role Purpose We are seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Data & Analytics expert to work with us as Data Governance Manager to lead the company’s reporting, analytics, automation, and data platform initiatives across retail and hospitality operations. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end data ecosystem including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL environments, Python-based analytics, workflow automations, and operational reporting across venues, retail systems, finance, loyalty, and digital platforms. The successful candidate will combine technical capability with business engagement, ensuring data is transformed into actionable insights that improve operational performance, customer experience, and executive decision-making. Key Responsibilities Data & Analytics Leadership
- Lead and mentor a small internal data team (3 direct reports)
- In co-ordination with senior leadership team, define and execute the company’s data and reporting roadmap
- Establish scalable reporting standards, governance, and data quality practices
- Partner with operational stakeholders across retail, hospitality, finance, marketing, and technology teams
- Act as the primary escalation point for analytics and reporting priorities Power BI & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards and reporting frameworks
- Deliver operational and executive reporting across:
- Venue performance
- Sales & margin analytics
- Product and promotion performance
- Customer and loyalty insights
- Labour and operational KPIs
- Optimise Power BI datasets, models, and refresh performance
- Manage role-based access and reporting governance Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform
- Manage and enhance Microsoft Fabric architecture and environments
- Oversee data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and semantic models
- Develop scalable data pipelines and integration frameworks
- Support cloud-based analytics and modern data platform initiatives
- Ensure platform reliability, performance, and scalability SQL & Data Engineering
- Help support maintaining SQL procedures, views, ETL processes, and integrations
- Optimise database performance and data structures
- Support integrations between POS, ERP, ecommerce, loyalty, and operational systems
- Maintain data integrity across multiple business platforms Python & Advanced Analytics
- Use Python for data transformation, automation, analytics, and operational efficiencies
- Build reusable scripts and automation capabilities
- Support predictive analytics, forecasting, and advanced reporting initiatives where required Automation & Operational Efficiency
- Develop workflows and automations using Microsoft Power Automate and related tools
- Reduce manual operational reporting and repetitive business processes
- Improve data delivery and business workflows across departments Stakeholder Engagement
- Translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions
- Work closely with executives and operational leaders to drive data-led decision-making
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership Skills & Experience Required Essential
- 5+ years’ experience in Data Analytics, BI, or Data Engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Power BI
- Microsoft Fabric
- SQL Server / T-SQL
- Python
- Power Automate / workflow automation tools
- Experience building enterprise reporting and analytics solutions
- Solid understanding of data modelling and ETL/ELT concepts
- Experience managing or mentoring technical teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience within retail, hospitality, or multi-site operations environments Desirable
- Experience integrating POS, ecommerce, loyalty, or venue systems
- Understanding of Azure data services and cloud environments
- Exposure to AI-driven analytics and automation initiatives
- Experience with financial and operational KPI reporting
