About the Role Reporting to the Sales Manager
- Refrigeration, this strategic position is responsible for developing and executing sales plans to achieve budget objectives within the Applied refrigeration business unit. You will play a pivotal role in identifying "upstream" sales opportunities, focusing on high-growth market segments in QLD and promoting Daikin’s specialised refrigeration applications. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Strong passion for sales with a mechanical/technical aptitude.
- Enjoys building connections, creating & maintaining customer relationships and understands the value of a strong network.
- Identifying and prospecting opportunities within specific market segments to drive growth for the original budget objectives.
- Engaging and reinforcing long-term relationships with target customers, business partners, and key industry stakeholders.
- Analysing internal sales data alongside external refrigeration industry trends to align business strategies with market demands.
- Creating high-level awareness of Daikin Refrigeration Systems (DAS) products within target customer groups through tailored application solutions.
- Building strong working relationships across all Daikin teams—including Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, and State Sales—to provide creative solutions for both internal and external needs.
- Maintaining a thorough and up-to-date understanding of industry trends to position Daikin as a leader in the refrigeration space.
- Ability to work autonomously in a team environment. About You To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially astute sales professional with a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of the Australian HVAC&R; landscape. You possess a natural ability to navigate complex "upstream" sales opportunities, engaging confidently with stakeholders ranging from HAVAC&R; contractors, wholesalers, consultants to corporate retailers. Your approach is results-driven, yet you pride yourself on building collaborative relationships across internal teams to deliver creative, high-impact solutions for your customers. This role could be suited to someone with experience as Sales Engineer and worked in the refrigeration /wholesale trade or has completed their Trade certificate in HVAC&R;, with a focus on refrigeration with Business Development or Account Management experience. To hit the ground running, you will ideally have:
- At least 5 years of proven success in a Business Development or Account Management role, specifically within the refrigeration or HVAC industry.
- HVAC&R; Qualification (Desirable)
- Experience from Commercial / Wholesale Industry (Desirable)
- The ability to analyse building industry data and market trends to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver professional presentations and lead high-level management discussions.
- Demonstrated skills in managing project lifecycles and the commercial acumen required to negotiate complex contracts.
- Strong grasp of industry-standard software and the ability to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
