The role: Byford Equipment is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and stores function. This hands-on leadership role is critical to ensuring materials, components, and consumables are received, stored, controlled, and distributed efficiently to support our manufacturing operations. Working closely with Production, Procurement, Engineering, and Management teams, you will lead warehouse activities, maintain inventory accuracy, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure a safe, organised, and productive work setting. Key Responsibilities As our Warehouse Team Leader, you will:
· Lead and coordinate daily warehouse and stores operations.
· Manage inventory control and maintain accurate stock records within M1 ERP.
· Ensure all incoming goods are received, checked, and receipted accurately.
· Coordinate the efficient storage, picking, and distribution of materials to production.
· Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels to support operational requirements.
· Raise purchase orders for consumables and warehouse-related requirements.
· Conduct regular stocktakes and inventory audits.
· Coordinate supplier returns and manage associated documentation.
· Maintain warehouse organisation, housekeeping, and security standards.
· Ensure hazardous and flammable materials are stored and handled safely.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
· Provide leadership, support, and direction to warehouse personnel.
· Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure production requirements are met efficiently and on time. To be successful in this role you will require:
· Previous experience in a warehouse, inventory control, or manufacturing environment.
· Proven leadership or supervisory experience, preferably within a warehouse or production setting.
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience using ERP systems, preferably M1 or similar.
· A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
· Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
