Our client is a leading plastics manufacturing company specializing in injection moulding and blow moulding solutions for diverse industrial and commercial markets. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. Position Summary The Project Engineer plans, organizes, and directs engineering activities to meet company objectives relating to design, new product development (NPI), and the continuous improvement of existing product lines. This role requires hands-on technical involvement, leadership of cross-functional teams, and coordination with external subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Develop and formulate R&D; proposals including objectives, applications, costings, resource planning, and equipment requirements.
- Facilitate and drive cross-functional teams to achieve timely and effective project outcomes.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Graduate Engineers and junior team members.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering policies, procedures, and product/process lifecycle systems.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to support NPI, tooling validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and approve tooling and assembly equipment for new product introduction projects, providing expert tooling support across departments.
- Evaluate technical proposals for feasibility, ROI, and strategic alignment; contribute to CAPEX planning and budget recommendations.
- Support contract negotiations with external engineering and consulting firms within defined project specifications.
- Deliver clear technical presentations, interpret complex documentation and drawings, and provide structured, level-headed leadership in challenging situations. Education & Experience Requirements
- University degree in Engineering (preferred) or minimum 5 years’ related experience in the heavy manufacturing sector.
- Robust understanding of Injection Moulding and Blow Moulding processes.
- Ability to interpret component drawings and associated GD&T.;
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive and motivate teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong computer literacy. Why Join Us?
