Accommodation Administrator (0.5 FTE) (Middlemount)

About the role Middlemount Coal is seeking a highly organised and proactive Accommodation Administrator to coordinate site accommodation for employees and contractors. In this role, you will help keep operations running smoothly through accurate forecasting, efficient booking coordination, strong stakeholder communication and a sharp focus on compliance and cost control. This is a 12-month, part-time maternity leave cover position (0.5 FTE), ideally suited to a locally based candidate. However, remote arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. Key responsibilities
- Coordinate accommodation bookings, forecasting and reconciliations for employees and contractors
- Monitor actual versus forecast accommodation usage and investigate variances such as no-shows and cancellations
- Build strong working relationships with accommodation providers, contractors and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all bookings and approvals are processed in line with site requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve room utilisation and reduce accommodation costs
- Assist with purchase requisitions, invoice receipting and month-end administration as required
- Maintain registers and support data accuracy across relevant systems
- Provide broader administrative support and site coverage when needed
- Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to safe work practices across the site About you
- Current Australian driver’s licence (minimum C Class)
- Ability to meet site access requirements, including Standard 11, Coal Board Medical and fitness-for-work requirements
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Outlook and Word
- Strong administration, data entry and record-keeping skills with a high level of accuracy
- Experience using finance or procurement systems for requisitions and receipting, or the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Desirable skills and experience
- Certificate III or IV in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field
- Previous experience in a mine site, camp or remote operations environment
- Experience in accommodation coordination, reconciliations and reporting
- Exposure to purchasing, accounts payable and cost-tracking processes What we offer

Middlemount Coal Mine is an open-cut coal mine which uses conventional truck and shovel methods. Middlemount commenced its full-scale operations in November 2011, producing approximately 4Mtpa of coking and PCI coal for export. Middlemount coal mine has a life expectancy estimated to be more than 20 years.
