Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. About the Role An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mid‑Term Design Engineer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Medium‑Term Planning team and reporting directly to the Medium/Long‑Term Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
- The strategic planning and development of medium‑term designs for truck and shovel, dragline and dozer push operations.
- Liaise with key personnel to ensure designs are optimised, aligned to the mine schedules and can be implemented safely.
- Developing and updating reserves to be used as inputs to the medium‑term schedules.
- Coordinate and work with other departments tying in all aspects of mine planning to ensure timely delivery of critical business objectives.
- Coach and mentor other Mining Engineers within the Technical Services department to build capabilities within the team. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering;
- Experience using Vulcan and 3DDig software packages;
- Experience using Deswik and Spry software packages is desirable;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills as this role deals with all levels of staff and management;
- A flexible attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve;
