Child & Family Support Worker – Rural Family Care Service Employment Term: Maximum Term to 30 June 2027, Full‑Time (76 hours per fortnight) Location: Central Queensland, Rockhampton, Emerald, Brisbane – Hybrid. Travel required to outback and western Queensland; when not on placement can work from home. Remuneration: $51 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging. About the role As a Child and Family Support Worker you will deliver a holistic response to geographically isolated children and families through the Remote Family Care Service. The role is predominantly in remote locations with approximately 70% of hours spent travelling and residing in family settings, supporting early education and parenting services. This role will involve
- Working alongside Early Years Educators to support the family unit.
- Providing clients with practical referrals and responding to their expressed needs.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with service providers, government departments and community agencies.
- Delivering short‑term intervention, information, advice and referral to vulnerable children and families.
- Conducting needs assessments and coordinating case‑management plans.
- Providing parenting support, parenting programs, early childhood development screening and assessment. Qualifications
- Diploma in Community Services, Human Services or related field (minimum).
- Understanding of child development and the needs of children aged birth to twelve years.
- Knowledge of early intervention and prevention supports for families with complex issues.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current QLD Driver’s Licence.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Ability to travel within Outback and western Queensland. Benefits for you
