Mechanical Engineering Technicians Emerald

Your Role

We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our busy Cotton Ginning operations located in Emerald, Moura and Dalby, QLD. During the season, working on a shift roster, you will be involved in all aspects of ginning operations, including monitoring production, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues to improve Gin productivity and performing preventive maintenance on Gin machinery and equipment.

Perform Gin checks with the specifications and machine settings to ensure the cotton gin is running at optimal levels.

Diagnose and resolve breakdowns of ginning equipment promptly to minimise downtime.

Monitor downtime statistics and troubleshoot problems.

Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance according to the agreed schedule.

Change or fit hydraulic hoses.

Review parts inventory.

Help maintain good plant hygiene and support general maintenance activities.

Ensure secure systems of work and adhere to the company’s safety management system.

About you

Mechanical trade qualification and certificate, or equivalent employment experience.

Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, ideally in cotton ginning.

Previous maintenance and mechanical experience.

Experience managing a diverse team or shift in a remote or isolated environment.

Reasonable computer skills and high literacy to understand safety instructions; valuable communication skills to work effectively as part of a team.

Understanding of hydraulic systems.

Knowledge of Australia’s Work Health and Safety requirements is ideal.

Fitness to manage long shifts during the season.

Outstanding work ethic, eagerness to learn, and ability to think on your feet to troubleshoot.

Respectful and able to interact with people from diverse cultures.

Valid driver licence.

Benefits

Annual salary package of $85,000
- $90,000 + super is on offer.
