Madras Kitchen Adelaide is seeking a skilled South Indian Cook to join our busy and rapid-paced restaurant. The successful candidate will have experience preparing authentic South Indian cuisine and maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards.

Requirements

. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or higher), plus at least 12 months of relevant work experience, or 3 years of Cook experience Experience preparing South Indian cuisine Knowledge of Indian-style chaat will be an advantage Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment Robust understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will perform following duties: Preparing, seasoning and cooking a range of South Indian dishes, including curries, dosas, idlis, vadas and other traditional items Assisting with the preparation of Indian-style chaat and street food items where required Ensuring food is prepared and presented to a high standard and according to restaurant recipes Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment Ensuring consistent quality and presentation Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with ordering ingredients Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen in accordance with food safety standards Assisting with menu preparation and development of current dishes where required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
