A wonderful career opportunity in the optical industry is available for an Optical Dispenser to join our friendly and skilled team at Eye Know How, a well-known and respected optometry practice in the local community.
About you
Previous experience working in the optical industry is highly valued. You will have a passion to deliver excellent customer service with a flair for fashion and a keen interest in sales.
A high level of competency in taking measurements (such as multifocal fitting heights, PDs and adjusting frames) is essential.
Excellent people skills to assist patients to select frames and lenses
Valuable product knowledge of lens types, including multifocal and office lenses
Experience in processing claims using HiCAPS, with good knowledge of health funds and an understanding of item numbers
Ability and willingness to learn
High attention to detail
Understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality
Professional appearance befitting a middle to high end boutique practice
Punctuality
About the position
The position is part time including Saturday mornings and will include 2 weekdays. No late night work is required. Close proximity to a major railway station (3 minute walk) and parking facilities.
Key responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly, positive demeanour
Show initiative and be a great team player
Demonstrate good attention to detail
Advocate best practice and adherence of Company policies
General practice administration and reception duties will also form part of the role, including ordering spectacles and contact lenses
Skills and experience
Experience with Sunix Practice Management software preferred
Proven experience working in a retail workplace
Outstanding communication skills, an organised and detailed approach to work flow as well as a love of working with people are key
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement
