Pastry Chef & CDP – Two Kitchen Roles Available (Essendon)

Basq Essendon Fields is currently recruiting for two separate kitchen roles: an experienced Pastry Chef and an experienced Chef de Partie. Applicants are asked to clearly state which role they are applying for. Both positions are currently available and actively being recruited for. This role is suited to someone with strong pastry, dessert and prep skills who can work confidently in a busy restaurant environment. We are looking for someone reliable, organised and passionate about producing consistent, high-quality food. You may be a dedicated pastry chef, or a strong Chef de Partie with experience across desserts, cakes, pastry prep, plating and general kitchen support. About the Role

You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and plating desserts to a high standard
- Assisting with cakes, pastries and sweet items
- Supporting mise en place for lunch, dinner and functions
- Maintaining consistency, presentation and portion control
- Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team
- Assisting across sections when required
- Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
- Supporting function and event preparation About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous pastry, dessert or CDP experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in pastry, dessert or CDP roles
- Candidates with either specialised pastry/dessert experience or comprehensive Chef de Partie experience will be considered for this requirement
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently during service
- Good organisation and prep skills
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
- Experience in restaurants, cafés, hotels or patisserie environments
- Availability across weekdays and weekends
- Must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday 1. Australian work rights are essential for this position What We Offer
