CHEF FULL TIME POSITION
Position Summary
Responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen, and provide qualified leadership and direction to kitchen personal. Ensure that all recipes, food preparations and presentation meet restaurant's specifications and commitment to quality. Maintain and safe, orderly and sanitaized kitchen. Demonstrate this by example, using proper food-handling techniques.
Position Requirements:
-Positive planning and organisation -Good italian cuisine knowledge
-Ability to work in a team co-operatively
-Keen sense of taste and smell
-Initiative
-Ability to remain calm and focussed in busy circumstances
-Fresh pasta maker essential
Duties and Responsibilities Preparing daily production list
Ensuring that all station remain stocked before and during the meal period
Assist with the menu and creation of different specials
Verifying that kitchen staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly
Keeping kitchen, dish and storage areas clean and organised
Cook and prepare food in accordance with customer requirements, taking into account any dietary and cultural requirements
Placing food and supply orders
Receiving products by verifying invoices and freshness of merchandise
Setting excellent customer service and work examples
Actively participating as a member of the management team
Managing staffing levels throughout shift
Overseeing kitchen labour and food costs to budgetary requirements
Performing additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested
Monitoring and controlling wastage, portion control on day-by-day basis
