In-House HR Manager / HR Generalist (Maribyrnong)

About Us: We are a growing automotive business based in Melbourne looking for an experienced and hands-on HR professional to join our team. This is an in-house role supporting management and staff across all areas of human resources, workplace relations, recruitment, compliance, and employee engagement. This role would suit someone who is confident working independently, practical in their approach, and experienced in managing HR matters within a fast-paced business setting. About the Role: You will work closely with management to oversee the day-to-day HR function of the business and help build strong workplace culture, processes, and compliance systems. Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes
- Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
- Provide advice on workplace relations, Fair Work compliance, and employment matters
- Assist with performance management and employee issues
- Coordinate policies, procedures, and HR systems
- Support payroll administration and leave management
- Assist management with staffing structure and workforce planning
- Handle confidential matters professionally and discreetly
- Promote positive workplace culture and employee engagement Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a HR Generalist or HR Manager role
- Strong understanding of Australian employment law and Fair Work requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive matters confidentially
- Confident using Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems
