About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for a Human Resources Advisor to join our team on a full‑time and on-site. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient day‑to‑day operation of the Human Resources function within the hotel. This is a hands‑on, highly operational position where you will work closely with leaders to align the colleague experience with Hyatt’s purpose of caring for people so they can be their best. You will play a key role in driving a culture that champions Hyatt’s Leadership Expectations and values, with a strong focus on wellbeing, experimentation and inclusion. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid HR operational experience who is ready to step confidently into an advisory position with genuine scope for growth and development. Some of the responsibilities include:
- Business Partnering
- Partner with leaders and the Senior Leadership Team to provide coaching, strategic people insights and operational HR support aligned with business needs.
- Recruitment, Onboarding & HR Administration
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and all associated HR administration including accurate data entry, reporting and preparation of employment documentation.
- Payroll & Confidential Case Handling
- Support fortnightly payroll processing with precision and confidentiality, resolving payroll‑related queries and ensuring compliance with legislative and award requirements.
- Learning, Development & Engagement
- Develop and deliver learning and development initiatives, coordinate colleague engagement activities and manage the Colleague Experience Survey to foster a culture of growth and connection.
- Policy, Safety & Compliance Governance
- Maintain up‑to‑date policies and procedures, ensure compliance with employment and safety legislation, and proactively identify risks across HR processes and systems.
- Employee & Industrial Relations
- Manage employee relations matters including grievances, performance management and investigations, ensuring procedural fairness and effective resolution.
- Counselling & Colleague Support -Provide confidential, supportive counselling to colleagues on workplace concerns, wellbeing and performance matters.
- Systems, Processes & Operational Excellence
- Utilize HRIS and strong process discipline to streamline workflows, enhance data integrity and drive continuous improvement across HR operations.
- Attention to Detail & Quality Assurance
- Uphold high standards of accuracy across all HR documentation, reporting and compliance activities. Requirements
- Considering candidates transitioning from Operational Roles (Front Office Manager, Room Divisions Manager, Director of Operations, EAM to Human Resource)
- Qualification in Human Resources, Hospitality or Business
- Experience in industrial relations, employee relations, occupational health & safety and workers compensation is a must
- Previous experience in a similar role in a hotel environment would be highly advantageous
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
