About the Role Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are seeking an experienced and motivated IIW Qualified Welding Inspector to join our busy structural steel fabrication facility in South Australia. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of welding quality, compliance, and workmanship across a diverse range of structural steel projects. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct welding inspections in accordance with project specifications, relevant Australian Standards, and client requirements.
- Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Qualifications.
- Perform visual weld inspections and coordinate NDT activities where required.
- Review fabrication and welding documentation, inspection records, and quality reports.
- Liaise with workshop supervisors, project managers, clients, and third-party inspectors.
- Monitor quality control processes throughout fabrication and assembly.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and quality system compliance. Essential Requirements
- International Institute of Welding (IIW) Welding Inspector qualification IWI-B minimum.
- Demonstrated experience in structural steel fabrication and welding inspection.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards including AS/NZS 1554 and associated welding codes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Desirable
- NDT qualifications or experience coordinating NDT activities.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO 3834 quality systems.
- Knowledge of major infrastructure, mining, commercial, or industrial steelwork projects. What We Offer
