This is a senior, hands-on role that combines strong category management capability with enterprise-wide logistics and distribution strategy. You will be accountable for delivering measurable improvements in cost-to-serve, service reliability, supply chain resilience, and ESG outcomes across inbound, outbound, and last-mile flows.
You will work closely with supply chain, manufacturing, and site-based stakeholders, as well as in-country counterparts, to drive cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Your key responsibilities will include developing 12-36-month category strategies; leading RFx processes and contract negotiations; and establishing effective supplier and carrier governance through SRM, SLAs, KPIs, and QBRs. You will drive Total Cost of Ownership and cost-to-serve improvements while ensuring strong service performance (OTIF/DIFOT), risk-managed supply through dual sourcing and contingency planning, and full regulatory and safety compliance across transport and warehousing operations.
In addition, you will lead logistics network and warehousing strategy across freight, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), distribution centre operations, and last-mile delivery. You will be accountable for performance analytics, freight audit and payment, and the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives across the logistics network.
**About You** You are a commercially astute supply chain leader with proven experience in procurement, logistics, and distribution strategy within complex operating environments. You bring strong contract and negotiation capability, a disciplined approach to risk management, and advanced analytical skills, including cost modelling, BI dashboards, and scenario analysis.
Comfortable leading complex, cross-functional initiatives; able to influence senior stakeholders and drive change while remaining hands-on with ERP, TMS, WMS, and up-to-date warehouse automation technologies. Greenfield warehouse and facility design experience is a strong plus.
You hold a tertiary degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related field, with certifications such as CIPS, APICS CSCP/CPIM, Lean Six Sigma, CoR, or PMP/PRINCE2 viewed favourably. Proficiency in SAP or Oracle and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau is essential, and you must have full work rights in Australia.
