We're Hiring: Education & Training Program Coordinator – LGBTQIASB Inclusion Role: Full-time Location: Fortitude Valley, Queensland Salary: $100,000 Super Salary Packaging WHO WE ARE: Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS) supports LGBTQIA Sistergirl and Brotherboy young people aged 12 to 24 and is the only service of its kind in Queensland. ODYS is dedicated to:

- Providing safe spaces for young people to connect with peers and community to foster a sense of belonging
- Advocating for the rights and needs of our young people to improve their access to resources and supports

THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a passionate and experienced education professional to lead the development, delivery, and growth of inclusive education and training programs that support LGBTQIASB young people and communities. This role will work directly with schools to build their capacity to create safer, more inclusive, and affirming environments for LGBTQIASB students. The successful candidate will design and deliver professional development for school staff, workshops for young people, support the establishment of Pride Clubs and inclusive initiatives, and represent the organisation at days of significance and community events. In addition, the role will lead the development, marketing, and delivery of paid inclusion and diversity training programs for corporate, government, and community sector clients. A key objective of the role is to build a sustainable and financially viable training portfolio that contributes to the long-term sustainability of the role. ABOUT THE ROLE: Key Responsibilities School Engagement & Education Programs
- Develop in collaboration with the CEO inclusive education programs and training for schools and educational settings.
- Facilitate professional development workshops for teachers, school leaders, wellbeing staff, and support personnel.
- Deliver workshops and engagement sessions with young people, teachers, school leadership, and guidance officers with a focus on inclusion, belonging, identity, allyship and best practice.
- Support schools to establish and sustain Pride Clubs and other inclusive student-led initiatives.
- Provide practical guidance and resources to schools to strengthen LGBTQIASB inclusion policies, practices, and culture.
- Represent the organisation at school events, conferences, and days of significance including IDAHOBIT, Wear It Purple Day, and Pride events.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, education departments, and sector stakeholders. Training Development & Delivery
- Facilitate paid training sessions both in-person and online.
- Continuously review and refine training packages to ensure content remains current, relevant, evidence-informed, and aligned with best practice.
- Adapt training content to suit a range of audiences and organisational contexts.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve training materials and delivery approaches.
- Maintain current knowledge of LGBTQIASB inclusion, youth wellbeing, and best-practice education approaches. Business Development & Marketing
- Lead the promotion and marketing of free training and education services to schools, corporates, and community organisations.
- Lead the promotion and marketing of paid training to corporates, and community organisations.
- Identify and pursue new partnership and fee-for-service opportunities.
- Develop promotional materials, presentations, and communication strategies to grow program reach and impact.
- Contribute to achieving revenue targets through paid training opportunities, with the goal of the role becoming self-sustaining.
- Build strong relationships with corporate and community stakeholders to support ongoing engagement and repeat business. Administration & Reporting
- Manage bookings, scheduling, and coordination of training and education activities.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting data, and evaluation outcomes.
- Contribute to funding reports, impact measurement, and organisational planning as required.
- Work collaboratively with the broader team to support organisational priorities and events. Selection Criteria Essential
- Qualifications in education, teaching, youth work, community development, or a related field.
- Experience facilitating training, workshops, or professional development sessions.
- Strong understanding of LGBTQIASB inclusion, particularly in relation to young people and school environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience developing educational resources, programs, or training content.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and build current opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders including schools, community organisations, and corporate clients.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
- Current Blue Card and driver’s licence.
- National police check or the ability to obtain one Desirable
- Experience in business development, marketing, or fee-for-service program delivery.
- Existing relationships within education, or community sectors.
- Experience delivering diversity and inclusion training in corporate or organisational settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and inclusive practice frameworks. Key Attributes
