Environmental Services Assistant (Frankston)

Your Role at St John of God Frankston Hospital
- The role of the Environmental Services Assistant is to support nursing staff by caring for patients’ personal needs and housekeeping duties within the unit or the wider hospital as required.- The Position-
- Performs housekeeping duties throughout the hospital, including ward cleaning, bed making and disposal of waste items.
- Assists nursing staff with transfers of patient's belongings to different areas of the hospital when requested.
- Escorts patients to discharge office when requested.
- Reports any maintenance / supply needs as necessary.
- Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment.
- Promote a positive safety culture within their areas by demonstrating a positive commitment to OHS.- You will have hospital-based cleaning experience and being able to operate all industrial cleaning equipment. Possess the ability to use initiative, demonstrate reliability and thereby require mínimal supervision or guidance, while being able to communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels, utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication.- To succeed you will have basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, infection control, cleaning equipment and OH&S; requirements, while also have the ability to plan and prioritise work and demonstrate good organisational skills.- Above all, people will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.- We can offer you-
- Salary: $49,000 to $52,000, plus 11% superannuation
- Casual and permanent part time positions available
- Shifts available (Can vary due to occupancy levels) Day
- 0730 until 1400 (Mon to Sun) -Afternoon
