At South East Water, we innovate with purpose and act with care to deliver healthy water for life. Fresh thinking and collaboration are at the heart of our organisation. We are constantly learning, embracing the challenges of today and excited by the opportunities that tomorrow will bring.
**The role**: This is an exciting chance to join our Network Operations team, reporting to and working closely with the Network Operations Group Manager. As the Manager of Compliance & Inspections at South East Water, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of drinking and recycled water supplies. Key responsibilities include overseeing backflow and fire service inspections, recycled water inspections, Hydrotrak administration, and managing access to water supply for carting.
You will play a vital role in safeguarding the water supply system and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes managing Customer Management Plans (CMPs) for non-residential recycled water customers, overseeing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Plans, and aligning health and environmental management plans (HEMPs) with EPA regulations.
As a leader, you will foster a culture of teamwork and innovation, aiming to elevate staff engagement levels and job satisfaction within the team. You'll lead, inspire, and develop an agile and high-achieving team, initiating and influencing the development of strategies and policies, representing South East Water in the industry, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
You will utilise South East Water systems and programs to monitor organisational and employee performance, identify and implement process improvements, and actively participate in water-related emergency incidents. Performance reviews, talent development, and succession planning within Service Delivery are integral aspects of your role, contributing to the continuous improvement of the team.
**Who are you?**: In addition, you'll require the following key skills and experience: **Regulatory Expertise**: Possessing expert-level knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations is essential to navigate and enforce compliance effectively.
**Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal communication, influencing, and negotiation skills are imperative for engaging with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external. A very high level of written communication is expected, including the establishment and management of contracts.
**Leadership and Change Management**: Proven people management and team-leading skills, coupled with demonstrated experience in leading change across multiple organisations and stakeholders.
**Innovative Mindset**: A results-driven individual skilled in driving and developing innovation within the plumbing and water industry.
**What's in it for you?**:
- A commitment to work-life balance with truly flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working, leave purchasing and RDO options.
- 15 weeks paid parental leave for all parents and paid super on unpaid parental leave.
- A range of benefits, including free on-site parking and cultural leave.
- A great culture working in collaborative teams with strong work ethics.
- Career focused learning and development opportunities.
- The opportunity to be part of an organisation committed to environmental initiatives.
- Enjoy modern office facilities with panoramic beachfront views.
**We're for everyone**: We do meaningful work, but how we do it is just as important. We’re here to help people live well, protect the environment, and keep healthy water and resources accessible and affordable for all. We know to make a positive difference we need to support our people to be their very best. Flexibility and innovation are at the heart of how we work. But it’s our people’s collective ambition, authenticity and differences that bring our culture to life.
Our people are as diverse as the communities we serve. Everyone brings a unique voice and a refreshing perspective that keeps us innovating. It makes us better learners, thinkers and collaborators, helping create better outcomes for our customers. Even though we’re all different, we still share a common goal to deliver healthy water for life.
