About the program:

The Pre-Internship program is a ground-breaking initiative where young people preparing to leave school are supported through a pathway to meaningful, paid employment.

Sadly, employment outcomes for people with disability are poor and the options available to young people leaving school usually boil down to working in a factory packing boxes for sub-minimum wage, going to a traditional day service where they go bowling week after week, or staying at home.

We believe that young people deserve better, that people of all abilities can work if they choose and that people with disability are a valuable part of the community fabric.

This first of its kind program MLV is creating, is a two-year pathway to paid employment that begins with school leavers supported through work experience in local industry to learn employability skills.
