Cook/Kitchen Hand (Frankston South)

About the Role: We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Cook to join our team and support the smooth day-to-day operations of our café kitchen. This is a hands-on role where you’ll prepare food to a high standard, assist with menu items, maintain food safety, and work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure great customer experiences. Key Responsibilities: Cooking & Food Preparation:
- Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to café standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow recipes and assist in developing new items when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen during service. Kitchen Operations:
- Set up and pack down the kitchen, including prepping ingredients for the day.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate when supplies need ordering or restocking.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared according to food safety guidelines. Cleaning & Hygiene:
- Wash dishes, sanitise work areas, and keep kitchen equipment clean.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safe food handling.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks. Team Support:
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate clearly and calmly during busy periods.
- Support the overall operations of the café as needed. Skills & Attributes:
- Previous cooking or café kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Positive time management and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
